For the position of Chief Legal and Compliance Officer

As the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer (CLCO) you’ll lead our commitment to legal compliance and risk mitigation. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead our legal and compliance functions, with oversight of the Group HR department. In Viking, you will also play an important role in producing and reviewing franchise and client contracts and take part in financial due diligence for M&A activities. As an individual, you have a business-oriented and autonomous mindset and can uphold sound business principles while ensuringcompliance to laws and regulation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal guidance on corporate matters, contracts, and transactions.
  • Follow regulatory changes and implement necessary updates to policies and procedures.
  • Implement proactive remediation plans to address identified issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure HR policies and practices align seamlessly with legal requirements and ethical standards.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with regulatory authorities, legal counsel, and external stakeholders.
  • Identify legal risks and develop robust strategies to mitigate them effectively.
  • Establish and maintain compliance programs to ensure adherence to laws and regulations.
  • Champion a culture of ethics, integrity, and corporate responsibility throughout the organization.
  • Conduct training and awareness programs on compliance and ethical standards.
  • Ensure strict compliance with corporate governance principles and best practices.
  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance to the Group HR department on employment law compliance.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and regulatory bodies on compliance matters. 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master of Laws (LL.M.) or equivalent legal degree
  • Commercially driven professional with a solid business understanding
  • Proven track record in legal and compliance leadership roles
  • In-depth knowledge of laws, regulations, and corporate governance principles
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining compliance programs.
  • Prior experience in HR compliance or related fields is advantageous.
