INPEX Idemitsu Norge (IIN) is part of the INPEX Group, Japan’s largest exploration and production company with a strong local presence in Norway. As a Senior Field Development Engineer in IIN, you’ll take part in technical discussions and evaluations related to exploration, development, modification and decommissioning projects. Balancing production, cost and HSE while collaborating closely with operators, partners and multi‑disciplinary colleagues as IIN’s representative in the license Technical Committee.
Your responsibilities
- IIN’s representative in the license Technical Committee: Represent INPEX Idemitsu in Technical Committee activities with tasks as; evaluate operator proposals, present internally and provide clear, actionable recommendations both internally and towards operators and partners.
- Evaluate alternatives, investigate and confirm feasibility and recommend solutions in line with the company’s strategy that balance production, economy and HSE.
- Track how our assets perform, spotting improvement and recommend actions together with operators and partners.
- Own the numbers: Gather, verify and implement license budgets into INPEX Idemitsu’s models. Report and follow-up throughout the year.
- Cost estimate: Contribute to our internal cost databases and estimation tools so we scope and price developments with confidence.
- Keep HSE in focus: Follow up HSE matters together with IIN’s HSE function and uphold the company’s “see‑to‑it” duty.
- Be the go‑to person: Provide facility support to other parts of INPEX Idemitsu when needed.
What you bring
- University degree in Engineering or a related field
- 7–10+ years of experience from the petroleum industry with strong competence in field development and facilities engineering/projects/construction/operation
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments, with a positive and curious learning mindset
- Experience with production license work processes and a solid grasp of the operator / partner dynamic
- Comfort working across disciplines and the interplay between subsea systems and topside facilities
- Sound understanding of project cost estimating and economics
- Proficiency in English
It’s a plus if you have
- Hands‑on license work experience
- Exposure to facility digitalization, data capture and efficiency tooling.
